Helen Dawn Orndorff Johnson was born April 9, 1936 in Logan County, Adairville,Kentucky to the late Albertan and Robert E. Orndorff. She was the fifth child of thirteen children born to this union. Two of her siblings, Sarah Frances and Jesse Milton and her parents preceded her in death.

As a child Helen attended elementary, junior high, and Taylor High school in Jeffersonville,Indiana.

As a teenager Helen was introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ at Christ Temple Apostolic Church Louisbille, Kentucky under the pastorate of the late Bishop Claude Griffin and she was baptized and received the Holy Ghost the summer of 1949.

In 1950 Helen met Wilton Ora Johnson of Toneyville, Kentucky. They were married on May 15, 1955 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Their union was blessed with two children, Karen Denae an Wilton Ora Johnson Jr. After the birth of their children,Helen and Wilton relocated to Cleveland, Ohio.

Under the pastorate of district Elder James Mayfield,Helen became a faithful and dedicated member of Christ Temple Church in Cleveland,Ohio. She served under district Elder Mayfield until his demise. Bishop Stanley Halton became the pastor of Christ Temple Church in 1969 and Helen pledged her continued allegiance to the ministry of Christ Temple and to this great man of God. After the demise of Bishop Stanley Halton, Sis. Helen as she was affectionately called continued to serve under the current leadership of Bishop Gabriel Halton until her health began to fail.

She served tirelessly with boundless energies as the Sunday School Secretary, Sunday School Superintendent for over thirty five years, Usher Board President, Captain's Fund President, Baptism Committee President,Cook for all conventions, Vacation Bible School Coordinator, Sunday School Bus Dispatcher, Special Events Coordinator, Wedding consultant and she was tremendously talented in raising monies for the Building Fund.

Helen was employed as a domestic worker. She also worked for Distinctive Catering Service.

Our God called Helen,his servant home to rest from her labor on Thursday, May 18, 2006. She has fought a good fight and now she has finished her course. Her work on earth is now done and she awaits her eternal reward. We celebrate wtih the angels this precious life that was given to us to enjoy for a season.

Sister Helen leaves to cherish precious and unforgettable memories her husband of fifty one years. Wilton Ora Johnson, Sr.one daughter, Karen Denae Edwards(Alvin), one son Wilton Ora Johnson,Jr. (Nancy) seven grandchildren,Millicent, Siobhan, Christian, Chaz, Ryan, Taylor and Brent, five great grandchildren, five sisters, Edna M.Winburn of Jeffersonville Indiana,Alfrieda Butler of Louisville, Kentucky, Ethel M.King of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Elmer L.Orndorff of Louisville,Kentucky, David F.Orndorf of New Albany, Indiana,Charles E.Orndorff of Jeffersonville,Indiana, Thomas M.Ordorff of Louisville, Kentucky, eleven sisters-in-law, ten brother-in-law, one aunt,Ethylene Jones of Charlestown, Indiana, a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, her church family and friends. She also had a special daughter in Christ, Mrs. Rhonda Harris of Richfield, Ohio.

Helen will be greatly missed. A light once lit has been dimmed. And though our hearts are saddened, we rejoice at the home going of this great woman of God and we humbly submit to the will of Almighty God.
